Hair Like Mommy’s – Update

The entire concept of introducing elements into Prayse’s life and toys that look like her is still a big deal to me. After posting about the hunt for a curly hair dolly I received many amazing comments and emails from people pointing me in the direction of dolls that have curly hair. A huge “Thank you!” goes out to all of you. I have stored some of them away for future use so we can sprinkle in some multi-culturalism to my multi-culti cutie

I did want to let you know which dolly we ended up going with for her birthday – the Corelle dolly. Isn’t she just beautiful? The both of them.

She’s even went shopping with us. But really I took this picture because I need to accept the reality that my daughter is just cooler than me, without even trying.

It’s a work in progress. She still will tell me (and anyone who listens) that her hair is growing straight. It is pretty great that friend and stranger alike tell her how awesome her curls are and how they wished they had them. She’s beginning to take notice of the pattern and we’ll continue discussing. Someday…

She did however tell me as I was plucking my eyebrows that, “Mom, I am fabulous just the way I am. I will NEVER have to do that.” Why yes, yes you are Prayse. You keep on keepin on girlfriend. I’m lovin it.
