Adams Family Vacation 2010
Myrtle Beach – 2010. Ah-mazing. That’s what that was! For the first time ever the three of us got to spend 8 days, just us, no plans. Family and the definition of a true vacation. It was time we needed as individuals as a family, as a Mama, as a Daddy, and as a three-year-old who needs sometimes needs Mommy and Daddy. Not just one of us while the other is working, not one of us sitting next to her while she’s watching TV and we’re on the computer – but US as a FAMILY. There was no work, no email, nothing.
Our days went like this: Sleep in (or not). Go downstairs for breakfast or grab breakfast out of the fridge in the condo. Go to the beach and rent an umbrella. Beach, Ocean, Sand, Dig for shells, Ride the Waves, Back to the Sand. Get lunch from the grill. Go back to the beach or go upstairs and chill. Or go to the pool. Get dinner either at a Seafood Restaurant or if we didn’t feel like going out at the grill again (really good cheeseburgers!). Then decide what we wanted to do for the evening – mostly swim
Sometimes until 10:30 p.m. – late for P, but hey! It was vacation.
The best time of my life.
Our view from our balcony. Prayse loved to be out here (with her cute little tush
) . She would pull out a chair and just sit and watch the ocean. Much like her Mama, the water soothes her.
Pier 2. Close to our hotel, and gorgeous views.
My hottie hubby on the pier.
One of my favorites. We were deep in conversation.
Reminded me of my Grandad.
Us
We went to another area full of shops, restaurants, and a mini-carnival. Definitely a highlight for Miss P
We went looking for (and found!) dolphins! Prayse wanted to go swimming w/ them like Diego, but realized that just wasn’t going to happen. She also kept calling them “whales.” Whatever floats your boat honey.
Freaky fish slide at Ripley’s Aquarium (although slightly expected at Ripley’s).
Random bubble eye in the freaky fish slide.
Ummm…. okay, Prayse loved Elvis. Loved him. Got sad during “intermission” at our hotel. She kept yelling, “Alvin! Alvin!” LOL!
Elvis/Alvin’s hiney and super cool peacock outfit and P and her new friend Taylor (see below) loved to try and reach out and touch when he walked by.
Any my ultimate all-time favorite picture from Myrtle Beach:
