I Got Pooped On

While we’re all anxiously awaiting the premiere of “Life With the Adams’” I’ll just keep on doing my thing. My blog is about sharing my experiences right? So let’s just keep it real.

I’m not ashamed to say it…

I’m not…

I’ll just….

Here we go…

I…

I uh…

Okay okay. I got pooped on. I did. I’ll admit it. Yesterday right after lunch Prayse looked at me and said “Puppy.?” (I never can really tell the difference between puppy and potty unless I listen closely and really pay attention to her body language). This was a big thing for us. Ever since we returned from Puerto Rico this is one of the many areas we’ve had regression. In speaking with her pediatrician – there are few areas that our little ones can control in their lives. Two of the areas they can are at the table and going potty. So they will often dig in their heels.

P couldn’t control us leaving her and not being here for that long. Regression in this area is natural. She didn’t want to sit on the potty, didn’t want to tell me she had to go potty. So we just stopped cold turkey. I don’t want her to think her diaper is a bad thing.

So I confirmed by asking her if she had to go potty? Yes. A big shake of the head, yes! Did she want to sit on the potty? YES! All right then! Here we go. Onto the potty we went. What song did we want to sing on the potty? “A,B! A,B!” So along we went with our ABC’s and someone went potty!

I won’t go into too many details but this was a big one.  I just kept thinking, “Praise the Lord this wasn’t in her diaper – we’d have an overflowing mess on our hands.” I was so excited and kept telling her how much of an awesome job she did! She was proud, waving “Bye bye potty!” and flushing the toilet.

Then I heard it, “More?” (Moe?)

“You have more?”

Another big nod.

Back onto the potty we went! Then, “All Done!”

“Are you sure?” Yep, she was sure.

“Moe? Moe?”

Back onto the potty we went… “All Done!”

Figuring this was a game, seeing as how she really would not stay up on the potty I asked her to lay down so we could make sure we got… everything (you know what I mean, you don’t really need details right?)

Then I felt it. Something large and warm was now on my leg. There it was folks, on my leg, in her pants, on her legs, on the rug… let’s stop there shall we?

Prayse was MORTIFIED. I felt so bad for her because this was the first time I have seen her embarrased. I kept my voice very bright and upbeat (but not fake, they totally know when we’re doing that).

“It’s okay Prayse. Mama will just clean this up. We’ll just get you cleaned up here really quick and those pants off of you! No worries babe. I’m not gonna lie, this grosses me out just a bit, but we’re gonna make it through! Would you like a diaper on?”

YES. There would be no scurrying away from this one. For the first time in her short life she wanted a diaper on. Poor babe.

I should have listened, because there was indeed “Moe.” I have also decided that we’ll lay off the raisins for just a bit as a favorite snack. She is obviously not chewing them…

  1. Oh!!! How funny! That totally just made my day! :) She’s a smart little girlie… And you got pooped on! hahaha… Love you!

  2. Poor Prayse and poor mommy! I must admit, it is a bit funny though, lol. Good luck with the potty training!
