Rebuilding – Day 5

Raymonn, Prayse and I tried a new church today. I love our usual church but we had received in the mail an announcement about this other church that was going to be doing a series on “Fireproofing Your Marriage” and decided we had to check it out. I was hooked into the message about 5 minutes into it as the pastor was speaking about the four seasons of marriage:

1. Romance
2. Reality
3. Resentment
4. Rebuilding

I had not realized how easily you can slip from reality toward resentment. It seems like it can happen in the blink of an eye. I am convinced we can have a combination Rebuilding/Romance season. It is simply not blind romance.  I also realized that I need to be more fun. Raymonn has told me in other ways that he misses the happy go-lucky girl from college. I have gotten to engrained in our life and the responsibilities that I forgot that as we dated we were both TRYING to be fun so that the other would want to go out again. Would want to spend more time together.

So I am going to try and focus on that (as just one thing, of course there are other things).

It made me realize that one of the things I love about my hubby is that he IS fun! Even when there are other stresses, even when his team loses a game they shouldn’t have lost, he can leave it behind and have a great time and laugh.
