We Are So Thankful
When I sit and think about Thanksgiving I realize there is much to be thankful for. Often times I think that this holiday gets passed by in anticipation of Christmas with Santa and gifts and holiday parties and Christmas cookies. Right after Halloween the Christmas sales start with Thanksgiving only a passing mention and the big “DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING SALES!!!” that are in every ad. I’m not trying to be a hypocrite, I also was at Kohl’s early this morning
But I do think I need to take a minute and just be thankful. I should take more time than just this once a year to really think about and share the blessings in my life because there are so many. I whine, moan, groan, and complain… a lot. But I am blessed.
I am thankful for my family. I have the most amazing daughter (just in case I haven’t made that clear
) who makes being a Mama my most favorite job. She is the most important thing in my life and my BFF! She smiles and my whole world stops.
I am thankful for my husband. He is a great protector and Prayse luvs her Daddy!! He makes us laugh and when we both just need someone strong to lean on, he is there.
I am thankful for my parents and sister. Not only have they come to my rescue physically, emotionally, and spiritually I have come to cherish our connection more than ever. I think I took the love my Mom has for me for granted. I just never realized the depth love could go.
I am thankful that my Grandad got to meet my daughter. There were a few times I was scared it wouldn’t happen. My Grandad’s logic of him being her guardian angel wasn’t good enough for me. I needed her to meet him, the man, the legend
My grandparents have built a foundation of love and faith for our family and providing the ultimate example of unconditional love in a marriage. It was important that she meet him, and she has.
I am thankful for my fellow Mommies that I met on my board. I was pregnant, clueless, and just needed friends. You guys have been there providing LOTS of laughs, great advice, and shoulders to cry on. Doesn’t matter that I haven’t met 99% of you, I consider you some of my closest friends and I am thankful that I stumbled upon an amazing group of women. Prayse has a great group of virtual Aunties!
I am thankful that this year I have gotten to know my cousin Kelly better. She is awesome! I never knew a friendship would bloom. As we are closer in geography and kiddos being close in age she is an invalueable source of companionship, advice, and FUN. I can’t wait for our babes to grow up together (now we only need to get Jamee back to Nebraska!)
I am also thankful that I’ve gotten to share more time with my Aunt Denise. You take so many individuals for granted when we’re young. Now having grown up, married, and a Mom I feel as though there is a whole new world and I get to “re-get to know” ladies like my Aunt and my Grandma. Your advice is golden, I love you!
I am thankful for my job. As stressful as it is, I am blessed to work for a company I believe in, with people I enjoy, doing somethingI love. It puts food on the table and allows me to help provide for my family.
Is it lame to be thankful for Starbucks’ Peppermint White Mocha? It’s just like the peppermint ice cream only warm and soothing and goodness it makes my day go better!
There’s more, there’s a lot more. But this is a good start. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! You have made this journey into Motherhood so much fun! I am thankful for YOU ALL!!

WOOHOO! for so much to be thankful..
AND
It is absolutely NOT lame! Im SO thankful for Starbucks!
Happy thanksgiving!
Great post Tiff. I agree, we do sometimes overlook the real meaning of Thanksgiving. When we really step back and think about it, we truly do have tons to be thankful for.
I agree that we need to stop and realize every day how thankful we should be with what we have. I am so thankful you are in my life, you came as a blessing and have turned into such a close friend. I love you and miss Prayse!
I’m so glad to read about your Granddad. You are indeed lucky that he got to meet Prayse. I would give the world to have my granddaddy back.
Hey lady, I love reading your stuff! You write exactly like you talk and it makes me smile!!!
Thanks, Tif! I, too, am so thankful for you and Chelsea. It is so hard to be so far away from dad and mom, especially now, but it is such a blessing to know how loved and cared for they are by their grandkids. I love you and the beautiful, Godly woman you have become! You truly are a blessing to many and Prayse is definitely blessed to have you as a mom!
Love you,
Aunt Denise
