Two Months Old!

Praysalyn my girl you are two months old now! I love you more and more every single day as we discover new things about each other.
You do NOT like to wake up, it takes you awhile to get the kinks out. But once those pretty blue eyes open we have a grand old time. You are able to see so much better and love to look outside, at lights, and fans. You forget sometimes that the fan is there and then rediscover it all over again, it is so fun to watch you get all excited!
We took you to see Dr Dews today for your two month wellness check. Here are the exciting stats, you’re doing so well!
Height: 24 1/4″ (97th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs, 4 oz (97th percentile)
Head: 39.3 cm (70th percentile)
You also had to get your first round of shots today. It was tough, on both you and Mama! I’m so glad Daddy was there, he held you and talked to you while I sat in the chair and cried.

After I read what could happen if you didn’t have these I’m so glad you did though!
Diptheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis: Diptheria causes a thick covering in the back of the throat. It can lead to breathing problems, paralysis, heart failure and even death. Tetanus causes painful tightening of the muscles, usually all over the body. Pertussis (Whooping Cough) causes spellsso bad it is hard for infants to eat, drink, or breathe. These spells can last for weeks. It can lead to pneumonia, seizures, brain damage, and death.
Comvax (HepV/HIB): Hepatitis B can cause loss of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting, tiredness, jauntice, liver damage, liver cancer, death. This is the first anti-cancer vaccine because it can prevent a form of liver cancer. Haemophilus Influenzae Type b (Hib) can cause pneumonia, severe swelling in the throat, making it hard to breathe, infections of the blood, joints, bones, and covering of the heart. Before this vaccine about 20,000 children in the United States under 5 gov severe Hib and nearly 1,000 people died.
Polio: Polio used to be very common in the United States. It paralyzed and killed thousands of people a year before this vaccine. Although it has been 20 years since being reported in the US it is still common in other parts of the world.
Prevnar: Streptococcus Pneumonia is a leading cause of invasive and non-invasive bacterial disease in children of the U.S. Each year it accounts for 7 million cases of ear infections, 500,000 cases of pneumonia, 50,000 cases of bloodstream infections and 300 cases of bacterial meningitis.
So, I think a few tears are worth even the slim chance that you could get any one of these terrible things. Remember, Mama loves you!

She is so beautiful- even in the sad shot picture!
She brought tears to my eyes… seriously! So sad, but definitely better than taking any risks! I love you Prayse!
Our girl is growing so big! So healthy and strong!
Sad tears and shots are hard, but I am glad Raymonn got to go with! muah Prayse girl, happy 2 months!
booo to the shots. she’s getting so big!
can I just say, and maybe its just the picture, but her skin seems like it’s darkening up…she’s going to have the most beautiful complexion!
Prayse, you get more beautiful with each passing day! I know those shots were a bummer today, but they will be with you, protecting you, long after your (and mommy’s!) little tears have dried.
Yay for daddys that hold us through the scary moments.
I love her SO much!!! I definitely need a Prayse fix soon!!!
So glad to get to see our doll again. I really missed her those few days you were in AK. Glad you got to go share her with Raymonn’s family, tho. Precious memories!!!! Love you all!
{{{hugs}}} Tiff. Shots are a catch-22. They help SO much, but have to hurt to help. I cried while Josh held her. I love those pics–I just want to touch her hair!!
