4:30 AM Ramblings

It’s amazing the strand of thoughts that run through one’s mind who’s awake starting at 2:30 in the morning and still yet awake at 4:40. Stick with me, if you can’t follow the strand, try getting up REALLY early tomorrow morning, it might make more sense.

  • I was reading on a friends blog about her having cervix envy. Perfect description of what I’m feeling. I’m 2 cm dialated, 90% thinned and yet I’ve got nothin. No baby, no consistent contractions, nothing. Cervix envy is sky high this morning as people are having babies that were less far along than I was at 4:00 this afternoon. Oh yeah, and the seven people that I know of who get to hold their babies who’s due dates were AFTER mine.
  • Why is it when you’re pregnant people feel the need to share personal stories that you don’t want to hear? At Walgreen’s today all I wanted to do was buy my two small purchases and get out. At this point I don’t even get a courtesy, “Did you find everything all right today?” All I get is, “Woah! When is that baby due??” Followed by the lovely story of her daughter who went four (yes, count them, FOUR) weeks past her due date and then gave birth to a 12 lb. baby. Think about it lady, do you really think I want to hear that story at this point?
  • There is no actual eye contact from people when you’re pregnant. I swear my belly is a beacon, it’s all people look at as I walk by. This must be what it feels like to have an actual chest (something, by the way I still do not yet have at 39 weeks).

This could possibly be “To Be Continued.” If I’m still awake in an hour I could very well have more.

Oh honey, when that milk comes, your boobs will come out from hiding. This is the only time in life I have them, although I get them while prego, and boy is it great!
